E.O. 9066

by Lunatique Fantastique

EXIT Theatre, San Francisco, 2003

Director/Creator: Liebe Wetzel
Puppeteer/Ensemble: Catherine Ming T’ien Duffly

This puppet show tells the history of the U.S. Japanese internment through the story of one family’s forced evacuation from their home during WWII. The show was created through the use of a Japanese tea set, tablecloth, sand, brown paper, and an old suitcase.

Liebe Wetzel and her crew create more emotion and eloquence than most dialogue-filled plays can produce in two hours—one stirring image after another.”
